I agree that Mega Man wins, but only if mario's supply of mushrooms and flowers is limited. Mario w/ mushrooms is extremely powerful even against the likes of Superman etc... because we know from Mario lore that he can take a hit of ANY magnitude and only be made shorter because of it. And even then he is fully invincible to all forces of any kind for a few seconds. So as long as he has 'shrooms he can take any type of physical damage imaginable for eternity. So you're conclusion is somewhat appropriate in that the only way to beat him is some sort of time freeze, or mind manipulation. However, I find it hard to believe that Mega Man and Dr. Light would be so morbid as to keep a living soul trapped for eternity in their laboratory. A little too Jabba-esque for a "good" character. Eventually, Princess Toadstool would show up disguised as a bounty hunter with Yoshi in hand-cuffs. Pretending to claim the bounty on Yoshi's head. Later that night, however, she would sneak in to release Mario, only to find that Mega-Man saw it coming and set a trap for her as well. Things look dreadful for our Mario world characters until Toad, who is working undercover as a drink server for Mega-Man tosses a brown turtle shell and an invincibility star to Luigi, who has just completed his Jedi training and shown up to save them all. Having taken the star, he is invincible for about 10 seconds while Mega-Man throws everything he has at him. In his window of opportunity Luigi releases he brown shell, which automatically hones in on the enemy and decapitates mega-man once and for all. Dr. Light, horrified by scene, merely kneels and cradles the body of his now dead friend, knowing it is useless to continue fighting with Mega-man already dead. However, Dr. Wily, unchecked, easily takes over the known universe with his army of super-robots with powers based upon arbitrary elements of nature and kills all of the mario characters except for Princess Toadstool, who he keeps chained to his bed and forced to wear a metal bikini.
